Vent-Axia, a leader in low carbon technology, has welcomed changes to SAP calculations that are set to boost the adoption of continuous centralised ventilation systems. The amendments, due to be launched in January 2012, have just been given the green light by the Department of Energy & Climate Change and will reduce the current conservative performance ratings given to this ventilation technology when it is installed by a competent person.

Over 300 influential industry guests attended the gala dinner, on 20 October at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London, which was hosted by comedian Sean Meo.

Housing Minister Grant Shapps today hailed the rapid progress of Government plans to release formerly-used public land with enough capacity to build up to 100,000 new homes by 2015.

In a major boost for housebuilding and Government transparency, departments with significant landholdings have published, for the first time, strategies that set out how their formerly-used land and property has the capacity to deliver more than 50,000 desperately-needed new homes.

There is only 10 days left to comment on the National Planning Policy Framework, which is designed to help sustainable growth in the construction industry.
