According to the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC), reforms to the UK’s electricity market to drive low carbon investment and boost energy security took another step forward today with the announcement of key decisions to help shape the future energy landscape.

Citizens Advice warns that tenants who live in the coldest privately rented homes which haemorrhage heat through the walls, windows and doors are trapped into higher fuel bills because they rely on landlords to make their properties energy efficient.

Citizens Advice and Friends of the Earth have called on private landlords and Government to take action on heatless homes that are costing tenants hundreds of pounds in wasted energy a year. Citizens Advice wants:

According to Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC), the UN climate talks in South Africa have been heralded a success after a climate change deal was struck in the early hours of Sunday morning. 194 parties have spent the past two weeks in Durban discussing how to cut emissions to limit global temperature rise to below two degrees to avoid dangerous climate change.
