Vent-Axia marks 80 years of innovation with the launch of the Sentinel Kinetic Advance, the next generation of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR). Topping the PCBD list, the Advance boasts exceptional efficiency, near silent operation, high pressure development and improved indoor air quality (IAQ). Plus the Advance features time-saving commissioning and control via a unique web-enabled App.
Designed for air-tight thermally efficient new build residential and light commercial properties the Sentinel Kinetic Advance is the best performing MVHR unit in its class. Achieving the holy grail of high efficiency and low sound levels the Advance features trickle settings of up to 40% that still stay below 20dBA. Boasting a specific fan power (SFP) as low as 0.38W/l/s, combined with 93% heat recovery the Advance has as high pressure airflow of 100l/s at 150Pa. Maximised airflows and minimised noise and energy are achieved through cutting-edge EC motor and highly sculpted interiors.
Offering energy efficient ventilation and pioneering control, the Advance is the first UK-manufactured web-enabled App-controlled MVHR unit. For installers this means the Advance features unique app-controlled functionality that offers simplified installation and commissioning, saving time on site and so money, improving performance and accuracy. When installers use a vane anemometer to measure airflow, using just one hand they can use the App to control airflows during measurement, making it unnecessary to repeatedly return to the unit to adjust fan speeds. USB functionality also allows pre-commissioning, thus saving time on developments with same specification builds.
“The Sentinel Kinetic Advance is the next generation of heat recovery ventilation systems and is designed to offer the highest level of comfort and control available, ensuring the best possible customer experience”, explains Ian Mitchell, Product Marketing Manager at Vent-Axia.
“The Advance paves the way with its performance, efficiency and sound levels as well as leading the market through its connectivity. We have strived to make the Advance system the most flexible solution on the market by considering every element of ventilation control.”
Offering a range of features that improve indoor air quality the Advancefeatures a unique and innovative free App which households can download onto their smartphones to allow them to control their IAQ. Via the App residents can use programmable controllers to schedule boosting when it is very hot, or to avoid boosting at night or perhaps when a baby is sleeping nearby, giving householders control over the noise level in the home as well as being able to view efficiencies and temperatures. Filters up to F7 grade ensure that even buildings in heavily urbanised areas can filter out most impurities, including damaging PM2.5 particles. A filter-check warning tells building occupiers via the App or email when filters need changing, thus helping to maintain the quality of incoming air.
Developed for modern thermally efficient buildings, Advance also features a revolutionary programmable 100% summer bypass to ensure year-round thermal comfort. The summer bypass is pioneering since it is fully automatic and truly intelligent, a first. The summer bypass is set for both comfort temperature and minimum external temperature. These settings enable the controls to determine whether it is winter or summer allowing it to run without resident intervention.
For further cooling the Advance summer bypass has an evening purge feature that boosts early evening and then runs on a timer until about 10pm so there is no nuisance noise at night. Additional cooling is also available for periods of several days of high temperatures and warm nights. Here the Advance utilises a Night-Time Purge. This allows a building to be pre-cooled for the following day by taking advantage of cooler night-time temperatures.
In addition, multiple specification options allow housebuilders to ensure the Advance performs as per design intent, improving build quality. Plus each unit can be handed left or right via the controller rather than separate L/H and R/H units, thus making specification and installation easier in mirrored properties on large New Build developments.
For fast and accurate installation the Advancecomes with a single hanging bracket and adjustable stand-off feet. Meanwhile cable routing is integrated within the unit, ensuring a tidy installation and the unit features a convenient front access to electrical and control connections.
Part of Vent-Axia’s Kinetic range of MVHR units, the Advance is a whole house heat recovery system combining supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting, passing through the heat exchanger before being exhausted outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger which recovers 93% of the heat that would otherwise be wasted.
